5mediumapplescored, cut into quarters

Instructions
Place apples, sugar, lemon peel, and tea bags in a 2 to 3-quart slow cooker.
Cook on low for 12 hours or until apples are completely broken down.
Remove lemon peel and tea bags.
Recipe Notes
There are a lot of good apples that can be used to make apple butter. You can use one type or a combination: Cortland, Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Jonagold, Braeburn, Granny Smith (tart), McIntosh, and Gala.
All apples can be peeled if you prefer, but leaving the peels on gives you more fiber and is healthier.
