Tips for a successful vegetarian meal prep

For an easy vegetarian meal prep, start by using the recipes below to help create your shopping list. Then, get cooking! You’ll probably be cleaning and cutting fresh vegetables, both as snacks and as parts of meals.

It can be easiest to prepare all your meals in one block of time. This allows you to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of your labor throughout the week, with minimal prepping or cooking each day.

You’ll also want to make sure you choose good containers to store your food in. This will help then stay fresh as long as possible. Here are some of our favorite meal prep containers.


How can a vegetarian get protein?

Some great vegetarian protein sources include proteins like tofutempeh, and seitan; whole grains like quinoa, spelt, and oatmeal; and beanslentils, and nuts. And for an added bonus, many of these protein sources don’t even need to be cooked, which saving you even more time as you meal prep!

Over a day, you need about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. If you weight 150 pounds, that’s about 68 kilograms, meaning you should aim for about 54 grams of protein per day. Plus, studies show that eating protein can help you feel more full, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for vegetarian meal prep for weight loss.
