You’ve probably noticed a wave of green beauty products hitting the shelves of your favorite beauty supply stores, with crunchy-sounding terms like “natural,” “organic,” and “paraben-free” plastered on the packaging.

And Gwyneth Paltrow took the green beauty trend one step further recently, dipping french fries in one of her Goop moisturizers to show off its food-grade preservatives.

We’re not quite ready to jump on the moisturizer-as-a-condiment bandwagon yet — we’ll stick with ketchup for our fries, thanks — but it’s no surprise that many consumers prefer these “green” brands. Green beauty brands typically claim to formulate their products with natural, non-toxic, and eco-friendly ingredients. And who wouldn’t like that?

To help you on your quest to become a lean, green beauty machine, here are some cult-favorite green beauty brands worth checking out.

1. FitGlow Cosmetics

Plant-based, cruelty-free, and gluten-free, FitGlow Cosmetics dubs itself the “best fitness and nutrition plan delivered directly to your skin.” Try their popular Vita Active Foundation — a blend of vitamin C, botanical hyaluronic acid, seaweed brighteners, and beta carotene. It won’t hurt the bunnies and it won’t hurt your skin!

2. RMS Beauty

RMS Beauty products are free of synthetic preservatives and genetically modified ingredients — instead, the brand uses raw, organic ingredients in their natural state. Try their Living Luminizer highlighter for a dewy glow or their Wild With Desire lipstick for a hydrating pop of color.

3. Osea

People are obsessed with Osea Malibu, the non-toxic, vegan skincare line made from organic, sustainably sourced seaweed. (Your inner mermaid will approve.) Their serums, cleansers, moisturizers, and facial oils offer a natural approach to anti-aging and blemish control.

4. Loli

Loli vegan beauty brand

Loli — which stands for “Living Organic Loving Ingredients” — packages its cruelty-free vegan products in food-grade glass jars and uses compostable labels, bags, and boxes. Check out their new Pank Collection, a collab with Jackie Johnson of the NATCH BEAUT podcast — like this plum elixir that can be used as a serum, moisturizer, or even a lip gloss.

5. Kypris

KYPRIS is a luxury line known for its natural ingredients — like organic botanicals, essential oils, and plant extracts. Try their signature Cleanser Concentrate, which features nutrient-dense moringa, prickly pear, and probiotics, and leaves your skin feeling radiant and clean.

6. Tata Harper

If you’ve ever stepped foot in a Sephora, chances are you’ve seen Tata Harper products prominently featured on display. Free of fillers, chemicals, and GMO ingredients, the green (literally!) skincare and makeup line is made with nourishing botanicals — like the apricot seed powder and willow bark extract in their Regenerating Cleanser.

7. Juice Beauty

Vibrant plant pigments replace synthetic dyes in Juice Beauty‘s lineup of organic and cruelty-free makeup products. Try their nutrient-rich Phyto-Pigment Mascara or their Stem Cellular CC cream with mineral SPF 30 protection.
